Matilda Sterby makes her role debut as Mimi in La Boheme for Karlsruhe

Swedish soprano Matilda Sterby makes her role debut as Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe on the 30th June 2023. She has also sung Micaela in Carmen there earlier this year.

The production is directed by Dr. Ulrich Peters, and the conductor is Georg Fritzsch.

Matilda Sterby is at the forefront of the new generation of Swedish singers, and has already appeared at houses such as Gothenburg Opera, Hannover Staatsoper, and Stadstheater Klagenfurt. She also won the 2022 Hjördis Schymberg Award in Sweden. And in the 23-24 season she has premieres at Malmö Opera and Volksoper Vienna.
