Tessan-Maria Lehmussaari will sing Miss Jessel in Turn of the Screw for Folkoperan in 2021
Soprano Tessan-Maria Lehmussaari will sing the role Miss Jessel in Britten’s Turn of the Screw for Folkoperan in Stockholm in Spring 2021.
The production will be directed by British stage director Annilese Miskimmon, who is currently the artistic director of English National Opera, having previously held the same position with Norwegian National Opera.
Folkoperan is located at Hornsgatan 72 in the southern district of Södermalm. It is one of Stockholm's most successful opera houses in terms of the size of the audience. Over the years, Folkoperan has come to be known as one of Sweden's most important stages for freelance opera singers and musicians
Swedish-Finnish Tessan-Maria is a rising star on the Swedish opera scene, have last year completed her education at the University College of Opera in Stockholm. She is the winner of the 2020 Jenny Lind Prize and tours the USA in support of that in 2021 (delayed due to Covid-19).
