Baritone Mikael Horned, the recipient of this year's Friends of Drottningholm Theatre's Opera Scholarship in 2021, sings the role Schaunard in the Royal Swedish Opera’s revival of Puccini’s La Bohème this Winter.
The production first performed in 2015 is directed by world-renowned tenor José Cura, and on this outing the conductor is Tobias Ringborg. In it we see the young protagonists relocated to Stockholm instead of Paris. It is directed by José Cura, and the conductor is Tobias Ringborg.
Mikael Horned is part of a new generation of young Swedish opera singers rapidly rising to the top at the moment. He made his Royal Swedish Opera full role debut last season as Antonio in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro.
